Bunny Crueltea
I found out recently that Lipton test their tea's on Bunnies (and rats and piglets too). I never wuld have thought anyone would be testing tea.. it seems so innocent! But what they do is feed the animals really unhealthy foods to make their arteries clog and give them bacterial diseases and then test if drinking tea helps them get better. But ultimately they get rid of the animals. It's disgusting.
I'm never buying lipton anything ever again. I'll continue enjoying twinnings!

sew sew sew your boat
I'm on a sewing spree. I finished a dress last night (circle skirts + hemming + chiffon = grrr). This morning i made this, crop toppy thing, or if i never wear it, i'll add a skirt. It took every inch of this fabric i had left (bought it 9 years ago at the fabric shop across from my work). I was silly and didn't anticipate how much room i'd need for elastic, the position of the straps screwed that up, that'd what you get for not using a pattern! I'm going to have to replace the elastic with those bra clasps... how nerdy.
next stop... a baggy singlet thing, and a cooool tote.
Now, I'm off to go watch Sabrina the teenage witch! love it.

stacked
I loooove photography, and we all know you don't have to be good at it to have fun with it. I put some old 52mm macro stacking lenses on my 58mm lens, attached with sticky tape which turned out rather fisheye-ish, and the above photos are foggy because it's soooo humid here.
Also started doing reverse lense macros...which so far have been more like abstracts, hard to get used to, i'm going to be making this soon to help out with it.
oh and isn't sleepy Nutella cute!

Hey guys, as you might know I'm vegan, but every now and then i'll watch a vid and read up on stuff just to keep reaffirming why I made the wonderful lifestyle choice that I have.
I grew up as a christian, always going to church, summer camps as well as the majority of people in my life. Since realising how violent and violating the meat & dairy I've always wanted to bring up the topic with some of my church leaders as it doesn't sit in line with the idea of peace, care and compassion. I'd ideally love for them to have a viewing of Earthlings which brings to light not only the cruelty involved but ecological impacts of the meat industry.
I want to share some of my reasons and quotes that affirm why i've made the choose to live as compassionately as I can. I can honestly say I feel fantastic about doing my best to live a life that doesn't require the needless sacrifice for my own benefit, and It wasn't hard to make the change.
Me
- I won't eat anything I wouldn't harvest/kill myself if I had to.
- I love animals, when I look into their eyes I see emotion and thought.
- drinking the breastmilk of another creature that is soley for their offspring (and filled with growth hormones for calves, which has been attributed to causing acne as well)
- because it feels good to look at the world with your eyes open and your head up and still be able to respect yourself
Some quotes
- When a man wantonly destroys a work of man we call him a vandal; when a man destroys one of the works of God, we call him a sportsman. - Joseph Wood Krutch
- If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men. ~St. Francis of Assisi
- The taste of anything in my mouth for 5 seconds does not equate to the beauty and complexity of life.
Please, educate yourself on the process of how your food gets to your plate.
