Something that I'm struggling to grasp right now is that quality costs more. I've grown up in a time when everything you can imagine has been mass made on production lines in foreign countries so that we pay the lowest prices. The repercussions of this is that workers are underpaid, end up with health problems from working long hours, the products are usually of less quality.

A good example is kitchen appliances. We've had 2 or 3 ovens in the past 15 years, yet my sisters's old 1970's flat had it's original oven that worked like a charm.

problem is.. there isn't alot of it around! I want to shop fair trade and vegan but I also want to look nice.

I think this is pretty good motivation to go to vinnies, and may be the thing that will make me actually step into a vintage shop!

It's going to be a long road, one that will be filled with non fair trade items like jeans (because where would I get fair trade jeans that look nice and actually fit my shape!)

anyhoo here's some inspiration that trying to be fair trade/vegan/eco is fun
